Epilepsy Action

Epilepsy Action is the largest member-led epilepsy organisation in Britain, acting as the voice for the UK's estimated 456,000 people with epilepsy, as well as their friends, families, carers, health professionals and the many other people on whose lives the condition has an impact.

Ixis have worked on two projects for the charity over the years.

The corporate flag ship site epilepsy.org.uk provides a wealth of information including medical advice, events and news, membership exclusive content all though a web based content management system. Ixis provided workflow configuration and custom module development for data import/export and privacy as part of the development process.

The secure members-only website, Forum4e.com, is built on the open source Drupal system and is used to provide an on-line support community for its large membership base.

The site includes personal blogs, photo sharing, discussion forums, news stories, buddy messaging, and a real-time chat client for all its members to stay in touch and provide support to each other.

Ixis IT managed the site migration from Drupal 4.6, 4.7 and through to 5.0, as well as updating and development of 3rd party module code, and site configuration changes.
