The director of the CBI in the North West, Damian Waters, has today highlighted that the growth of the creative sector could be hampered by the lack of relevant skills being taught.

The report details recommendations for the Government to introduce higher levels of computer programming and software development courses. Further, the CBI want to see greater collaboration with universities to ensure that courses are relevant to the working world.

Here at Ixis, we couldn’t agree more. We are a high growth company, hampered only by the availability of qualified and skilled programmers. Considering the scope of the existing Drupal community, we are still struggling to find skilled developers. Ixis are considering solutions to this issue, exploring opportunities with local education providers and own in-house training programme. If you are considering a career with Ixis, see our current vacancies.
